Chapelle d’Ausone is the second wine of the legendary Château Ausone, one of Saint-Émilion’s most revered estates. From the outstanding 2005 vintage, this Magnum offers a rarer, more generous format that is ideal for extended cellaring and sharing a truly classic Bordeaux experience.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep garnet color with some evolution toward brick at the rim as it ages. The nose is refined and layered, often revealing black cherry, plum, cedar, graphite, dried flowers, tobacco, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is structured yet polished, with ripe dark fruit, savory earth, mineral notes, and well-integrated oak framing the wine’s elegant core. The 2005 vintage is known for balance and longevity, and this bottling has the concentration and freshness to continue aging beautifully for many years, especially in Magnum format.

Produced in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, from the same exceptional limestone-and-clay terroir associated with Château Ausone, Chapelle d’Ausone benefits from the estate’s meticulous vineyard work and exacting selection. Harvesting is done by hand, and vinification follows a careful, parcel-by-parcel approach to preserve purity, structure, and the distinctive minerality of the site.

Food & Serving
Best served at 16–18°C and ideally decanted for 1–2 hours if drinking young or after a period of cellar age. It pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game, truffle dishes, and mature hard cheeses.
