Description

Champagne Baron Albert Blanc de Blancs Fûts La Pimpante is a richly layered Chardonnay Champagne that stands out for its depth, elegance, and food-friendly style. Long oak maturation and extended ageing on the lees give it a distinctive blend of freshness, texture, and complexity. Built from carefully selected grapes and old reserve wines, it reflects the kind of craftsmanship that has helped define serious Champagne over generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a golden hue with a fine, delicate mousse. The nose opens with dried tropical fruit, orange, and apricot, lifted by subtle fresh oak notes and a gentle toasted character from ageing. On the palate, it is elegant and precise, with small, refined bubbles and a lively backbone of freshness supporting a complex fruit profile. The long lees ageing adds autolytic notes and extra depth, while the oak fermentation contributes a hint of roasted richness. This is a Champagne with excellent ageing potential, though it is already beautifully expressive now.

Production
Made entirely from Chardonnay, this Blanc de Blancs comes from Baron Albert’s family-owned vineyards in three villages in the Marne Valley. The best grapes are harvested from the estate’s own parcels, then vinified in oak barrels to build structure and layered complexity. The base wine is assembled from three older vintages from the cellar before undergoing traditional secondary fermentation in bottle, where it rests for 9 to 11 years before disgorgement.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent Champagne for the table, especially with rich or intense dishes that can match its depth. Try it with lobster, scallops, roasted poultry, creamy sauces, truffled dishes, or mature cheeses. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting only if you want to let the more nuanced aromas open up further.

Producer
Champagne Baron Albert is a family-run house with strong roots in the Marne Valley, where it has built its reputation on estate-grown fruit and careful craftsmanship. The producer is known for combining traditional Champagne methods with a focus on expressive, terroir-driven wines. Its work with reserve wines, extended ageing, and oak vinification has helped establish it as a respected name for more complex, gastronomic Champagnes.
