Champagne Abel Lepitre Brut Cuvée Idéale is a distinctive non-vintage Champagne with an inviting amber-gold colour and a generous, fruit-led character. Founded in the Montagne de Reims in the 1920s, Abel Lepitre built a house whose Champagne was later selected as an official supplier to the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique and its renowned ocean liner, France.

Tasting Notes
The wine appears amber-gold in the glass, with a rich and concentrated nose recalling plum, blood orange and blackcurrant blossom. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, offering flavours of dark fruit, preserved peach and almond, followed by a gently spicy finish. As a non-vintage Champagne, Cuvée Idéale is designed to offer balance and approachability rather than reflect a single harvest. It is enjoyable now for its expressive fruit and supple texture, though careful short-term cellaring may allow the fruit and almond notes to develop further.

Food & Serving
Its generous fruit profile makes it a versatile match for pâté, charcuterie, roast poultry and creamy fish dishes. It can also accompany lightly spiced Asian cuisine or mature cheeses. Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Decanting is not normally necessary for Champagne; if desired, a brief rest in a wide glass can help reveal its concentrated aromas.

Producer
Abel Lepitre was born in 1900 into a family of winegrowers in the Montagne de Reims. At just 24 years old, during the vibrant 1920s, he founded his own Champagne house, establishing a reputation for an independent and forward-looking spirit. The house later became an official supplier to the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, whose flagship was the world-famous ocean liner France.
