Cesari Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Il Bosco 2021 is a refined expression of Amarone from one of Valpolicella’s most selective vineyard sites. Made only in exceptional vintages from carefully chosen healthy grapes, it combines concentration, elegance, and the deep character that has made Amarone one of Italy’s most admired wine styles.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the intense, dark ruby-to-garnet color typical of well-made Amarone. The nose is layered and inviting, with ripe black cherry, dried plum, fig, and subtle spice, followed by hints of cocoa, sweet tobacco, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with rich fruit, firm structure, and the warm depth that comes from appassimento drying. The finish is long and persistent, balancing power with finesse. Thanks to its concentration and careful maturation, this wine has excellent aging potential and will reward cellaring for years to come.

Production
Il Bosco is a small, high-quality vineyard site with vines over 20 years old, where the focus is firmly on selection rather than volume. Only the healthiest grapes are harvested, and the best bunches are placed in drying rooms to concentrate flavor before being pressed in January. The wine then matures for two years in barriques and large Slavonian oak casks, followed by an additional 6–8 months of bottle aging.

Food & Serving
This Amarone is a superb match for rich dishes such as braised beef, game, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses, and slow-cooked lamb. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour to let the aromas and texture fully open.
