Ceritas Marena Chardonnay 2023 is a refined, single-vineyard expression from the cool, ocean-influenced Santa Cruz Mountains. Grown close to the Pacific and produced in a restrained style, it combines vibrant Californian fruit with striking freshness, saline minerality and understated elegance.

Tasting Notes
The wine is pale gold with delicate green hues. Its aromatic profile is precise and lifted, revealing citrus, green apple and white flowers alongside hints of sea breeze and a subtle nutty nuance. On the palate, lively acidity gives the wine energy and definition, while pure fruit and pronounced mineral character create a sleek, finely balanced texture. The finish is long, focused and gently saline. With its structure and freshness, the wine should develop added depth and complexity over several years in bottle.

Production
The Chardonnay comes from a dry-farmed single vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, close to the Pacific coast. Sandy soils with marine deposits, combined with the cool maritime climate, encourage slow ripening and contribute to the wine’s freshness and concentration. The grapes are gently whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral French oak, followed by maturation in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit and the vineyard’s mineral character. Its moderate alcohol level of approximately 12–13% supports the wine’s elegant, balanced style.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Its bright acidity and saline character make it an excellent match for oysters, shellfish, grilled or poached fish, light poultry dishes and fresh vegetable preparations. The wine is best enjoyed without decanting, although a brief period of aeration in the glass can allow its floral and mineral nuances to open further.
