Tasting Notes
Deep and alluring in the glass, this Cabernet shows a dark, saturated color that hints at its concentration. The nose opens gradually, then expands into layers of black cherry, blueberry tart, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate, and licorice, with a richness that continues to evolve in the glass. On the palate, the 2018 Special Selection is full-bodied and intensely flavored, with dark cherry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, shaved milk chocolate, and a savory tar-like edge. It finishes with remarkable length and impressive persistence. While already drinking beautifully, it has the structure and depth to develop further over time.

Production
Special Selection is produced only in vintages when Caymus Vineyards’ best vineyard blocks reach exceptional quality. The wine is assembled by Chuck Wagner, whose careful blending and focus on ripe, expressive fruit define the house style. Sourced from prime Cabernet Sauvignon plots in California, the wine reflects warm-climate ripeness, concentration, and polished craftsmanship.

Food & Serving
This is a powerful, luxurious Cabernet that pairs well with premium cuts of beef, lamb, venison, truffle dishes, or richly flavored mushroom preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromatics to open fully.
