Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep garnet-red colour with brick-toned reflections that come with age. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with ripe dark fruit, dried herbs, warm spice, tobacco, and subtle earthy notes unfolding over time. The palate is full-bodied and polished, with mature, integrated tannins and a balanced line of acidity that gives the wine structure and freshness. Notes of cherries, leather, spice, and forest floor linger on a long finish, while the bottle age adds nuance and harmony. This is a wine with excellent aging pedigree, already beautifully developed but still capable of holding its character gracefully.

Production
The grapes come from Poggio ai Frati vineyards in Tuscany at around 400 metres above sea level, where the altitude helps preserve freshness and aromatic precision in the fruit. The harvest is done by hand, allowing for careful selection of healthy, ripe Sangiovese grapes. Winemaking follows traditional methods, with the wine matured for at least 24 months in oak casks before bottling. This classic approach supports the wine’s structure and complexity while preserving the character of the vineyard and the Chianti Classico tradition.

Food & Serving
This Riserva is a natural match for roast beef, game, braised lamb, and rich Tuscan dishes such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù. It also pairs very well with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended to help the wine open up and reveal its full aromatic depth.
