Cascina Ghercina, Monferrato Chiaretto 2025 Rose

Cascina Ghercina Monferrato Chiaretto 2025 is an elegant Italian rosé made from a blend of red grapes in the traditional Chiaretto style. Its clear salmon-pink colour, refined red-fruit character and silky balance make it a versatile choice for relaxed summer drinking or lighter meals. Cascina Ghercina has been dedicated to estate-grown grapes and quality-led winemaking since its foundation in 1871.

Tasting Notes
Bright and clear in the glass with an attractive salmon-pink hue, this rosé offers delicate aromas of cherry blossom alongside fresh red fruit. The palate is velvety and well balanced, combining gentle fruitiness with a clean, elegant finish. Designed for early enjoyment, the 2025 vintage is best appreciated while its freshness and floral character are at their most expressive. It should be enjoyed within the next one to two years, provided it is stored in a cool, dark place.

Production
The wine is produced from a blend of red grapes grown across Cascina Ghercina’s estate holdings in Piedmont, including vineyards in Monferrato and surrounding areas. Following destemming and crushing, the must undergoes approximately eight hours of cold skin maceration before gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18–20°C, after which the wine matures in stainless-steel vessels to preserve its freshness, clarity and delicate aromatics.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C. Its soft texture and clean finish pair beautifully with antipasti, salads, fresh seafood, grilled prawns, sushi, light pasta dishes and mildly seasoned poultry. Decanting is not required; open shortly before serving and keep the bottle cool to maintain its freshness.

Founded in 1871, Cascina Ghercina remains guided by a clear philosophy: working with its own vineyards and placing quality above all else. The family expanded its holdings in 2002 by acquiring a further eight hectares of south-west-facing vineyards at approximately 360 metres above sea level in the heart of the Barolo area. Water from the Ghercina stream contributes to a distinctive local microclimate, while the estate’s partly underground 5,000-square-metre cellar provides storage capacity of more than 15,000 hectolitres. Today, the winery owns vineyards across Langhe, Alba, Roero, Asti, Monferrato and Gavi, reflecting its important presence throughout Piedmont.
