Casanova di Neri’s Rosso di Montalcino 2024 offers an expressive, approachable interpretation of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most prestigious wine regions. Made with the same care and attention given to the estate’s Brunello wines, it delivers vibrant cherry fruit, elegant tannins and a long finish without requiring extensive bottle age.

Tasting Notes
The wine presents a bright ruby-red appearance, followed by a fresh, fruity bouquet marked by aromas of ripe cherries. On the palate, it is supple and refined, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a balanced, lingering finish that extends from long to very long. The 2024 vintage is ready to enjoy now, while careful cellaring should allow the wine to develop additional complexity over the next few years.

Production
Produced from dedicated Sangiovese vineyards in Montalcino, the grapes receive the same meticulous attention as those destined for Brunello production. Selection takes place by hand both before and after destemming. Fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of cultured yeast, in an open, conical, temperature-controlled environment, with maceration and fermentation lasting 18 days. The wine then matures in wood for a further 12–18 months before release.

Food & Serving
This versatile Rosso di Montalcino is well suited to pasta with tomato-based or meat sauces, Tuscan-style grilled meats, roasted poultry, charcuterie and mature cheeses. Serve slightly cool, at approximately 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential when enjoying it young, although 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help open the wine’s fruit and soften its structure.
