Casanova di Neri’s Brunello di Montalcino Giovanni Neri Magnum 2021 is a striking expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most admired estates. Named in honor of the family’s roots, it combines precision, depth, and elegance in a format made for special occasions and long cellaring.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, radiant red color that immediately hints at its freshness and energy. The nose opens with a vibrant core of young red fruit—blueberry, cherry, and plum—before evolving toward subtle blood orange notes with time in the glass. On the palate, it is refined and layered, with very fine, creamy tannins that give the wine both structure and generosity. The finish is deep and persistent, suggesting excellent aging potential and the ability to gain further complexity over the coming years.

Production
Produced from hand-harvested Sangiovese grapes picked in September, the wine reflects the character of Montalcino’s terroir, where altitude, sunlight, and well-drained soils help preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Vinification includes a 29-day maceration in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats, with 20% whole clusters, followed by 30 months of maturation in barrel and 18 months in bottle.

This Brunello is a natural partner for rich red meat dishes, game, and well-aged cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to allow the aromas and tannins to fully open, especially in a magnum format.
