Casanova di Neri’s Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is the estate’s distinguished white-label Brunello, produced with pride since 1978. Made from the estate’s distinctive Sangiovese, it combines the elegance and finesse associated with Montalcino with remarkable precision, balance and long-term ageing potential.

Tasting Notes
Bright, clear red in colour, the wine opens with an intense bouquet of fresh, youthful red fruits. On the palate, lively acidity is beautifully balanced by a creamy texture and a silky, polished feel. The tannins are exceptionally fine and precise, giving the wine both structure and elegance, while the persistent finish seems almost endless. Although already approachable in its youth, the 2020 vintage has the balance, refined tannins and concentration to develop further in bottle. It should reward cellaring for many years, gaining added complexity and depth with time.

Production
Produced in Montalcino, Tuscany, from Sangiovese selected for its distinctive character and elegance. The grapes are hand-selected both before and after destemming, followed by a natural fermentation without the addition of cultured yeast. Maceration and fermentation take place in an open, cone-shaped, temperature-controlled environment over 23 days. The wine then matures for a further 43 months in wood before release, as required for Brunello di Montalcino.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for Tuscan cuisine and richly flavoured dishes, this Brunello pairs especially well with bistecca alla Fiorentina, roasted or braised beef, wild boar, game birds, mature hard cheeses and earthy mushroom dishes. Serve at approximately 18°C. Decant for 1–2 hours before serving when enjoying the wine young; older bottles should be handled more carefully and decanted only if necessary to remove sediment.
