Description

Caparzo Brunello La Casa 1991 is a beautifully mature Brunello from one of Tuscany’s most respected wine families. Made from 100% Sangiovese and aged for at least four years in oak, it captures the elegance, structure, and longevity that have made Brunello di Montalcino one of Italy’s great wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with the subtle depth that comes with age. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with ripe fruit and moving into notes of spice, leather, and dried nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, with fresh acidity, refined structure, and a long, balanced finish. This is a wine with excellent aging pedigree, and the 1991 vintage should now be fully evolved while still offering impressive harmony and character. Its combination of fruit, savory complexity, and acidity gives it the kind of presence that continues to shine at the table.

Production
Produced in Tuscany from 100% Sangiovese, this Brunello reflects the classic terroir of Montalcino, where warm days and cooling influences help preserve freshness and aromatic precision. The grapes are vinified to emphasize purity and structure, then matured for a minimum of four years in oak casks, allowing the wine to develop depth, complexity, and the hallmark Brunello style.

Food & Serving
Ideal with rich, savory dishes such as game, roast beef, braised meats, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to best express its aromatics and structure. A gentle decant is recommended, especially for older bottles, to help the wine open gradually and show its full character.

Producer
Caparzo is a well-regarded estate in Montalcino, known for producing wines that combine traditional Tuscan character with consistency and quality. The winery has earned a strong reputation for Brunello di Montalcino, and its name is closely associated with some of the region’s most dependable and expressive wines.
