Cantina Andriano Gewurztraminer Passito Juvelo is a richly expressive dessert wine from Alto Adige, crafted from 100% Gewürztraminer and shaped by the region’s long tradition of aromatic white wines. With its botrytised character, small 0.375L format, and elegant balance of sweetness and freshness, it offers a memorable example of Italian passito winemaking.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Juvelo shows a golden-yellow hue that can deepen toward amber with age. The nose is intensely aromatic and spicy, unfolding with notes of honey, vanilla, quince, and candied orange peel, all wrapped in the characteristic perfume of Gewürztraminer. The palate is full, broad, and voluptuous, yet never heavy, thanks to a precise balance between sweetness, acidity, and alcohol. Its layered richness and botrytis complexity give it impressive depth, while the structure suggests it can develop beautifully for several years in bottle.

Production
The grapes are harvested in December, when they have had time to naturally concentrate before being selected for passito production. After a short three-hour maceration, the wine is fermented in barriques and matured for 11 months, allowing the aromatic fruit and botrytised complexity to integrate with subtle oak influence.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for fruit tarts, almond pastries, blue cheese, foie gras, or simply enjoyed on its own as a contemplative dessert wine. Serve slightly chilled, around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to open up its aromatic layers, especially in younger bottles.
