Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep ruby-red colour, typical of a youthful Brunello. On the nose, aromas of black cherries are layered with tobacco, balsamic notes and subtle savoury complexity. On the palate, it is beautifully concentrated yet balanced, with polished, soft tannins, refreshing acidity and a long, harmonious finish. The 2021 vintage has the structure and depth to develop further in bottle, while already offering considerable drinking pleasure with decanting.

Production
The estate is located in the northern part of Montalcino and farms vineyards in the Canalicchio di Sopra and Le Gode di Montosoli areas. These sites differ in elevation, exposure and soil composition, producing distinct expressions of Sangiovese that are carefully blended in the cellar. Canalicchio di Sopra combines respect for traditional methods and the surrounding nature with carefully selected modern technology; specific harvesting and vinification details for La Casaccia 2021 are not provided.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for Tuscan cuisine, this Brunello will complement roasted or braised meats, beef, game, lamb and mature hard cheeses. Serve at approximately 18°C, ideally after allowing the bottle to breathe. Decant for around one to two hours when serving young, both to open the wine’s aromas and to soften its structure; older bottles should be decanted more gently and for a shorter period if sediment is present.

Azienda Agricola Canalicchio di Sopra was founded by Primo Pacenti in 1962 and remains a family estate now working across three generations. The property covers 60 hectares, including 15 hectares of vineyards and two hectares of olive groves, in the northern sector of Montalcino. By bringing together fruit from its two distinctive vineyard zones while preserving local traditions, the estate has established a significant reputation for elegant, complex and terroir-driven Brunello di Montalcino.
