Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, it opens with an inviting aromatic mix of lemon, watermelon, jasmine, passion fruit, and a gentle touch of vanilla. On the palate, it moves into green and red apple, pineapple, and grapefruit, with a hint of cardamom framed by discreet oak and lively acidity. The wine feels fresh and charming rather than heavy, with enough structure to keep it interesting over the next 4–5 years. Its balance of fruit, spice, and acidity gives it a polished, food-friendly profile that should continue to develop nicely in the short term.

Production
Calera sources fruit from carefully selected vineyards in California’s cool Central Coast, where ocean influence, wind, and moderate temperatures help preserve acidity and aromatic lift. The grapes were vinified and then aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, with just 10% new oak, allowing the fruit character to remain front and center while adding texture and subtle complexity.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay works beautifully with roast chicken, grilled fish, creamy pasta dishes, shellfish, or salmon with herbs. Serve it lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, to best show its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is not necessary, though a short time in the glass will help the wine open up.
