Description

Caccia al Piano Le Bozze Vermentino 2024 is a pure expression of coastal Tuscany in the glass: bright, aromatic and irresistibly drinkable. Crafted from 100% Vermentino, it highlights the grape’s natural freshness and saline charm, echoing the breezes and wild herbs of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. The floral label, inspired by the colors of the surrounding landscape, underlines the wine’s deep connection to its Tuscan coastal origins.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Le Bozze 2024 shows a luminous straw-yellow color with subtle green reflections, suggesting both youth and vibrancy. The nose is immediately inviting, with notes of white flowers, citrus blossom and freshly cut herbs, layered over juicy hints of lemon, lime, crisp pear and a touch of ripe peach. A delicate mineral tone and a gentle sea-breeze salinity complete the aromatic profile. On the palate, this Vermentino is clean, precise and refreshingly energetic. Lively acidity frames flavors of citrus zest, green apple and stone fruit, supported by a fine, slightly saline minerality that brings real lift and length. The texture is sleek yet rounded, delivering a satisfying, medium-bodied mouthfeel that finishes dry and crisp. Best enjoyed in its first few years to capture its vibrant fruit and aromatic intensity, it will drink beautifully over the next 2–3 years.

Production
Le Bozze is sourced from vineyards close to the Tuscan coast, where sandy and alluvial soils, abundant sunlight and cooling maritime breezes help Vermentino ripen slowly while preserving acidity and aromatic purity. Grapes are typically harvested in the cooler hours, often by hand, to ensure they arrive at the cellar in pristine condition. After a gentle pressing, the must is fermented at controlled low temperatures in stainless steel to safeguard the grape’s delicate floral and citrus aromas. The wine generally rests on its fine lees for a short period to add a touch of texture and complexity, without masking the variety’s hallmark freshness and coastal character.

Food & Serving
This Vermentino is a natural partner for seafood and Mediterranean cuisine: think grilled fish, prawns, calamari, seafood risotto, or classic spaghetti alle vongole. It also pairs beautifully with fresh goat cheese, salads with citrus dressings, and light vegetable dishes such as grilled zucchini, fennel or artichokes. Serve well-chilled at about 8–10°C to emphasize its crisp, refreshing profile. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour, allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass to reveal its floral and citrus nuances.

Producer
Caccia al Piano 1868 is an estate rooted in the Bolgheri area of coastal Tuscany and today forms part of the Berlucchi family’s wine holdings, bringing together their sparkling-wine expertise with a deep respect for Tuscan terroir. Once a historic hunting lodge, the property has been transformed into a quality-focused winery surrounded by vineyards that benefit from the mild maritime climate and diverse soils of the region. While the estate is best known for refined, characterful Tuscan wines, its Vermentino showcases another side of Bolgheri: vibrant, maritime-influenced whites that capture the scents and flavors of the nearby sea. Caccia al Piano has become a recognized name in the area for wines that combine precision, elegance and a strong sense of place.
