Cà dei Frati Tre Filer 2021 is a warm, aromatic white from the shores of Lake Garda, offering a beautifully balanced interplay of sweetness, freshness and generous texture. Made in the Benaco Bresciano area, it reflects the estate’s long association with Lugana and the distinctive character of Turbiana, the region’s signature white grape. Its name and style are closely linked to the historic Cà dei Frati estate, documented as early as 1782.

Tasting Notes
The wine presents a luminous golden colour, hinting at its aromatic richness and time spent developing on the fine lees. The nose is expressive and inviting, with notes of dried fruit, honey and ripe orchard fruit, complemented by a delicate, rounded sweetness. On the palate, Tre Filer is full-bodied and supple, yet carefully balanced by the lively acidity of Turbiana. The finish is smooth, persistent and pleasantly fresh rather than heavy. It is enjoyable now, while its concentration and acidity should allow it to develop further in bottle over the coming years, gaining additional complexity and depth.

Production
The wine comes from the mild, lake-influenced climate around Lake Garda, where the large body of water moderates temperatures and the region’s breezes help preserve freshness and aromatic definition. Tre Filer is produced from late-harvested grapes, allowing the fruit to achieve its characteristic concentration and notes of dried fruit and honey. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12–14 months on its fine lees in stainless-steel tanks, followed by a further year of bottle ageing before release.

Food & Serving
Its balance of sweetness, acidity and richness makes Tre Filer a natural partner for blue cheeses, particularly mature and creamy styles. It is equally well suited to pastries, cream-filled cakes and small delicate desserts. Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Decanting is not generally necessary, although opening the bottle shortly before serving can give the aromas a little extra time to unfold.

Producer
Cà dei Frati’s history reaches back to at least 1782, when the estate was known as a house with a wine cellar in Lugana, referred to as the “place of the brothers.” In 1939, Felice Dal Cero moved to a house in Lugana di Sirmione and began the family’s lasting commitment to the area. After decades of work in the vineyards and cellar, his son Pietro bottled the first Lugana Casa dei Frati in 1969, the same period in which the Lugana DOC was established. Today, Cà dei Frati is one of the most recognised names associated with high-quality wines from the Lake Garda and Lugana region.
