Made on Islay but deliberately not dominated by smoke, it stands out for its lively, expressive profile and its focus on provenance and transparency.

Tasting Notes
Bright and pale gold in the glass, it opens with a clean, fragrant nose of barley sugar, citrus zest, green apple, and a gentle coastal freshness. On the palate it is soft yet vivid, with notes of honey, vanilla, malted grain, orchard fruit, and a subtle mineral edge that gives it shape and lift. The finish is crisp, lightly warming, and pleasantly saline, leaving a lasting impression of sweet malt and citrus. While approachable when young, it has enough structure and balance to be enjoyed neat or as part of a thoughtful whisky collection.

Production
Produced at Bruichladdich on Islay, The Classic Laddie is made entirely from Scottish barley and is bottled without added coloring or heavy peat influence, allowing the raw ingredients and distillery character to shine. The whisky reflects Islay’s maritime climate and slow maturation conditions, with production centered on careful distillation and a clean, character-led style rather than smoke or cask-driven intensity.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed neat, with a drop of water, or over a large ice cube to open up its citrus and malt notes. It pairs well with smoked salmon, shellfish, mild cheeses, roast chicken, or vanilla-based desserts, and should ideally be served at room temperature. Decanting is not necessary, though allowing it a few minutes in the glass will help the aromas develop.
