Brigaldara Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Il Vegro is a polished expression of one of Veneto’s most beloved traditions, made using the classic ripasso technique that gives the wine extra depth, texture, and warmth. Crafted from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, it combines ripe fruit with elegant structure and a distinctly Veronese character.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red color that hints at its freshness and vitality. The nose opens with aromas of red plum, marzipan, and exotic flowers, lifted by a subtle mineral and saline note that adds a touch of originality. On the palate, it is juicy and well-rounded, with vibrant acidity that keeps the red fruit and spice notes lively from start to finish. The wine closes with a clean, fruit-driven finish and a pleasing length. It is enjoyable now, but should also hold well over the next few years.

Production
Il Vegro is made in Veneto from a blend of 55% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, and 20% Rondinella, grapes that are closely associated with Valpolicella’s finest wines. The ripasso method gives the wine added richness and complexity, typically by refermenting it on the skins left from Amarone production, bringing more concentration and aromatic depth while preserving freshness and balance.

Food & Serving
This Ripasso pairs beautifully with roasted meats, braised beef, game, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses, as well as hearty pasta with rich sauces. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30 minutes can help open up its aromatics and soften the wine’s structure.
