Sourced from three distinct vineyards—3D, Machado, and Hapgood—it captures the cool-climate character of Sta. Rita Hills, a region that has helped define some of the most elegant Pinot Noir in the United States.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vibrant ruby-red color. The nose is lifted and refined, offering aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, white tea, and floral notes. On the palate, it is light on its feet yet layered, with flavors of ripe cherry, white truffle, dried fig, tea, and subtle spice. The overall style is graceful and finely tuned, with freshness carrying the wine from start to finish. This is a Pinot Noir built more for finesse than power, and it should continue to develop nicely over the next several years. While approachable now, a bit of cellar time will likely bring even more detail and earthiness to the fore.

Production
Fruit for this wine comes from three Sta. Rita Hills sites—3D, Machado, and Hapgood—each contributing its own nuance to the final blend. The region’s cool maritime climate and distinctive terroir are ideal for producing Pinot Noir with tension, aromatic lift, and natural acidity. Brewer-Clifton is known for using a significant portion of whole clusters during fermentation, and the wine is matured entirely in used oak barrels to preserve purity and let the fruit and site speak clearly.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, quail, or dishes with earthy ingredients like truffle and porcini. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening it young to help the aromatics unfold more fully.
