Bodegas Riojanas Viña Albina Reserva 1995 is a classic Rioja red with the depth and refinement that long-aged Tempranillo can deliver. Coming from one of the region’s established producers, it combines ripe fruit, spice, and oak maturity in a style that reflects the traditional Reserva character of La Rioja.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with subtle violet highlights, hinting at both maturity and vitality. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of black fruit, warming spice, and roasted oak notes that unfold gradually. On the palate, it is smooth, full-bodied, and well balanced, with a pleasant freshness that supports the wine’s richness. The finish is long and persistent, making it a wine with excellent drinking appeal now, while still offering enough structure to hold up well over time.

Production
Produced from Tempranillo grapes grown in some of Rioja’s best vineyard sites, this wine benefits from the region’s ideal conditions for balanced ripening. After harvest, it was aged for 18 months in oak barrels and then rested for a further 12 months in bottle, allowing the wine to integrate its fruit, oak, and tannins into a more harmonious whole.

This Reserva pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted meats, game, and mature cheeses, where its depth and savory character can shine. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting it before serving to help open up the bouquet and soften the texture after years in bottle.
