Description
Bodegas Bellavista Cambil Bay Sauvignon Blanc Fumé 2025 is a vibrant Spanish white that combines the variety’s naturally fresh, citrus-led character with ripe tropical fruit and a subtle toasted-wood accent. Produced by one of Jumilla’s oldest commercial wineries, it offers a distinctive meeting point between modern winemaking and the region’s long-established identity.
Tasting Notes
Bright and lively in the glass, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with expressive aromas of mango and citrus, underpinned by a delicate mineral note and a hint of toasted wood. The palate is fresh and well balanced, with ripe fruit, crisp acidity and an elegant touch of oak that adds texture and complexity without overwhelming the wine.
Designed to be enjoyed in its youthful, aromatic phase, the 2025 vintage is best appreciated over the next few years while its fruit and freshness are at their most pronounced.
Production
The wine comes from Jumilla, in southeastern Spain, a transition zone between the Mediterranean coast and the high plateau of La Mancha. Vineyards in the wider appellation range from approximately 400 to 950 metres in elevation, with parallel valleys and a dry, sunny climate that provides excellent conditions for quality and organic viticulture. Bodegas Bellavista’s winemaking combines newer techniques with the estate’s traditional character; the wine’s Fumé style is reflected in its refined toasted-wood influence. Specific harvesting methods and detailed fermentation information are not provided.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its fresh acidity and ripe fruit make it a natural partner for grilled prawns, ceviche, sushi, seafood salads and lightly spiced dishes, while the subtle toasted character also complements roast chicken, creamy fish dishes and soft cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass can help its tropical fruit and delicate oak notes emerge.
Producer
Bodegas Bellavista is a family-owned winery founded in 1870 and located in the heart of Jumilla. Recognised as the area’s oldest commercial winery, it forms part of the D.O.P. Jumilla and has maintained a strong connection to the region while embracing contemporary winemaking techniques. Its wines reflect the distinctive conditions of southeastern Spain, where altitude, rugged landscapes and the transition between coast and plateau create favourable conditions for producing characterful quality wines.
