Bodegas Anadas’ CariñenaCare XCLNT 2021 is a polished white wine from the heart of Spain’s DO Cariñena, combining generous fruit with freshness and subtle oak complexity. Part of the producer’s innovative CARE project—named after the ancient Roman name for Cariñena—it reflects the estate’s careful selection of vineyards and detailed approach to winemaking.

Tasting Notes
The wine pours a straw-yellow colour with bright golden highlights. Its expressive, complex nose reveals tropical fruit and citrus alongside delicate spice and dried-nut nuances. On the palate, it is smooth, fresh and full-bodied, with a rounded texture balanced by lively acidity and a lingering finish. Thanks to its time on the lees, French oak and concrete, the wine offers both immediate appeal and added depth. It is ready to enjoy now, while its structure and development may allow it to gain further complexity over the next few years when properly stored.

Production
The wine is produced in DO Cariñena, a historic region in northeastern Spain known for its sunny conditions and distinctive soils. Fermentation takes place in 5,000-litre stainless-steel tanks at 16°C, followed by two months on the lees with daily bâtonnage to build texture and richness. It then matures for six months in French oak barrels and a further 12 months in concrete tanks, adding layers of spice, creaminess and mineral character.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for tuna, cod and poultry, this white also suits richer fish dishes and lightly seasoned meals. Serve well chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, although a brief period of aeration in the glass can help reveal its aromatic complexity.

Founded in 1935, Bodegas Anadas is one of the oldest family-run wineries in the Cariñena region. Based in the heart of DO Cariñena, the estate is best known for its Garnacha-based red wines, complemented by a selection of whites and rosés under the CARE name. The CARE project is a focused and highly detailed initiative, with careful attention given to vineyard selection, winery infrastructure and every stage of vinification. Its distinctive labels, created by artist Enrique Torrijos, reflect the region’s sun and soils, while the name CARE also evokes the care and respect the winery brings to its wines.
