Bodegas Anadas’ CariñenaCare Tinto Sobre Lías Garnacha-Syrah 2024 is a vivid, full-bodied red from the heart of Spain’s historic DO Cariñena. Made from a generous blend of Garnacha and Syrah, it combines ripe fruit intensity with a rounded texture from time on the lees and a brief period in oak. The CARE name pays homage to Cariñena’s ancient Roman heritage and reflects the winery’s careful, quality-focused approach.

Tasting Notes
Deep black in colour with striking violet highlights, this wine opens with a complex bouquet of ripe red and black fruit. On the palate, it is powerful and fruit-driven, with a full, intense character balanced by supple texture and a satisfying sense of harmony. The finish is notably long and persistent, with the fruit remaining at the forefront alongside subtle oak-derived depth. The 2024 vintage is approachable in its youth and is best enjoyed for its vibrant fruit and freshness. It should develop well over the short term, although it is primarily designed to be enjoyed young and fruit-forward rather than held for extended ageing.

Production
Produced in DO Cariñena, the wine reflects the region’s warm, continental conditions, which help Garnacha and Syrah achieve ripe, expressive fruit. The grapes undergo a four-day cold maceration on their skins before alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The wine is then aged on oak for two months, with the Sobre Lías style contributing additional roundness and texture. Specific harvesting methods have not been provided.

Food & Serving
Its generous fruit, structure and intensity make it a natural match for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, spicy sausages, hearty stews, burgers and mature cheeses. Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential for this youthful vintage, but a short 20–30 minute decant can help the wine open and soften its powerful fruit profile.
