Bodegas Anadas’ CariñenaCare Garnacha Blanca Barrica 2023 is a refined Spanish white wine that combines the fresh, fruit-driven character of Garnacha Blanca with the added depth of French oak ageing. Produced in the heart of DO Cariñena by a family winery founded in 1935, it forms part of the CARE range—named after the ancient Roman name for Cariñena and created as a tribute to the region’s soils, sunshine and winemaking heritage.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a clear, pale-yellow colour with attractive green highlights. Its aromatic profile is intense and expressive, offering white flowers, ripe peach and pear alongside elegant notes of vanilla, walnut and butter from its time in oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and rounded, balancing ripe fruit with creamy oak nuances and a long, satisfying finish. It is approachable now, while its structure and oak maturation should allow it to develop further complexity over the short term when carefully stored.

Production
Made from Garnacha Blanca grown in the Cariñena region of northeastern Spain, the wine reflects the area’s warm, sunny conditions and distinctive terroir. Fermentation takes place in new 500-litre French oak barrels over 25 days at a controlled temperature of 16°C. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for four months, giving it additional texture and layered aromas of vanilla, butter and nuts.

Food & Serving
A versatile choice for lamb, grilled salmon and Asian-inspired dishes, particularly recipes that combine aromatic herbs, gentle spice or rich sauces. Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C to preserve its freshness while allowing the oak character to show. Decanting is not essential, though opening the bottle 15–20 minutes before serving can help the aromas unfold.

Founded in 1935, Bodegas Anadas is one of the oldest family-run wineries in Cariñena and is based in the heart of the DO Cariñena appellation. The estate is best known for its Garnacha-based red wines, complemented by a select range of white and rosé wines under the CARE name. CARE is an ambitious and carefully conceived project, with vineyard selection, winery infrastructure and vinification all handled with precision. Its distinctive labels, designed by artist Enrique Torrijos, reflect the sunlight and soils of the region, while the name also evokes the care and respect devoted to every wine produced by the winery.
