Bodegas Anadas’ CariñenaCare Garnacha Blanca Barrica 2022 is a richly textured Spanish white wine that combines the ripe, expressive character of Garnacha Blanca with the refined influence of French oak. Produced in the heart of DO Cariñena, it reflects the modern, quality-focused approach of the CARE project—named after the ancient Roman name for the region.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a clear, pale-yellow colour with attractive green hues. Its intense bouquet brings together white flowers, ripe peach and pear, complemented by subtle layers of vanilla, walnut and buttery oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and rounded, with a pleasing balance between ripe fruit and barrel-derived richness. The finish is long and persistent, making it an excellent choice for enjoying now. It may also develop additional softness and integration over the short term, although its fresh fruit character is best appreciated while young.

Production
Made from Garnacha Blanca grown in DO Cariñena, the wine is fermented in new 500-litre French oak barrels for 25 days at a controlled temperature of 16°C. It then spends a further four months ageing in French oak, allowing the fruit, floral character and notes of vanilla, walnut and butter to come together. The CARE project places particular emphasis on careful vineyard selection, fruit quality and precise winemaking.

Food & Serving
Its medium body and creamy oak character make it a versatile partner for lamb, grilled salmon and Asian-inspired dishes, particularly recipes with aromatic herbs, gentle spice or savoury sauces. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C to preserve its freshness while allowing the oak and ripe fruit aromas to show. Decanting is not essential, but a brief period in a carafe can help open the wine’s expressive bouquet before serving.

Founded in 1935, Bodegas Anadas is one of the oldest family-run wineries in the Cariñena region. The CARE project is an exclusive and innovative expression of the region, combining carefully chosen vineyards and dedicated winemaking facilities with distinctive label artwork by artist Enrique Torrijos.
