Bodega Campo Eliseo, Campo Elíseo Cuvée Alegre Blanco 2024 White

Campo Elíseo Cuvée Alegre Blanco 2024 is a refined, gastronomic white wine from Rueda, created by the prestigious partnership of François Lurton and Dany and Michel Rolland. Made from Verdejo grown on the elevated Rueda plateau, it combines the grape’s freshness and aromatic character with subtle textural depth from partial oak fermentation and lees ageing.

Tasting Notes
Bright and fresh in appearance, the wine offers an expressive nose of citrus fruits, white peach and fresh herbs, complemented by delicate floral and lightly creamy nuances. On the palate, it is vibrant and well-balanced, with crisp acidity, ripe orchard fruit and a rounded texture from its time on the lees. The finish is persistent and mineral, with enough complexity to develop further over the next few years, although it is already highly enjoyable.

Production
The Verdejo grapes come from vineyards situated at approximately 600–700 metres above sea level on the Rueda plateau near Villafranca de Rueda. The high-altitude setting helps preserve freshness and aromatic precision in the warm Spanish climate. Part of the wine is fermented in oak, while the remainder matures on its lees in concrete and stainless-steel tanks, creating a harmonious balance between structure, freshness and complexity.

Food & Serving
A versatile and food-friendly white, Cuvée Alegre pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted fish, shellfish, seafood rice dishes, poultry and creamy pasta. Its freshness also complements goat’s cheese, vegetable dishes and modern tapas. Serve lightly chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not essential, but allowing the wine to breathe in the glass or giving it a brief rest in a carafe can reveal additional texture and aromatic depth.
