Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a generous, inviting profile with layers of citrus, toasted nuts, and warm oak spice. The nose is powerful and expressive, with ripe fruit underscored by subtle toast and creamy complexity. On the palate, it is soft, juicy, and beautifully rounded, yet lifted by fine acidity that keeps the wine lively and well balanced. The oak influence and time on lees lend extra richness, a supple mouthfeel, and a classic Chardonnay character with plenty of volume. It should drink very well now, and while it is already appealing in its youth, it has enough structure and complexity to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
Black Stallion Chardonnay 2023 comes from Napa Valley vineyards spanning both warmer hillside sites and cooler valley-floor parcels influenced by fog from San Francisco Bay. The grapes were harvested early to preserve freshness, then fermented in stainless steel before being matured in a selection of barriques from different coopers to build complexity. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrel, and the wine spent around ten months on its fine lees, adding richness and texture to the final blend.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay pairs especially well with roast chicken, grilled lobster, creamy pasta, seared scallops, and dishes with butter, mushrooms, or subtle spice. Serve it chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary—though a few minutes in the glass will help its aromatics open nicely.
