Description

Château Beychevelle is one of Saint-Julien’s most iconic names, and the 2010 vintage comes from a year widely regarded as outstanding in Bordeaux. As a 4ème Grand Cru Classé, it combines pedigree, polish, and the classic Left Bank structure that has made Beychevelle a favorite among collectors.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a deep ruby color with impressive concentration. The nose typically opens with blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral and spice notes, alongside the refined, savoury character that defines great Saint-Julien. On the palate, Beychevelle 2010 is usually powerful yet beautifully balanced, with ripe black fruit, firm but polished tannins, and a long, layered finish. The wine has the structure to age gracefully for many years, and the 2010 vintage in particular suggests excellent cellaring potential.

Production
Produced in Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Beychevelle benefits from gravel-rich soils that drain well and encourage deeply rooted vines. The estate’s vineyards are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, with vinification designed to preserve purity of fruit, precision, and the château’s signature elegance.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game, or truffle-infused dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open and soften.

Producer
Château Beychevelle has a long and distinguished history in Bordeaux and is one of the most recognized estates in Saint-Julien. Classified as a 4ème Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it is celebrated for producing wines that balance power, finesse, and consistency, with a style that has earned it a strong reputation among Bordeaux enthusiasts.
