Description
Bergianti Rosato Rifermentato Saint Vincent 2025 is an organic, naturally sparkling rosé from Emilia-Romagna, made entirely from Lambrusco di Sorbara. Its distinctive character comes from bottle refermentation with must from the same vintage, creating a fine, persistent perlage while preserving the grape’s fresh, delicate fruit profile. Unfined and unfiltered, it is a deeply artisanal expression of the traditional wines of Emilia.
Tasting Notes
Bright rosé in appearance, with a lively mousse and fine, lasting bubbles. The bouquet is pleasantly aromatic, offering fresh red-fruit notes and an invitingly pure, varietal character. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant and supple, combining gentle fruitiness with a direct, energetic finish. With its natural style and delicate structure, it is best enjoyed young, while its freshness and aromatic lift are at their most expressive.
Production
The Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes are grown on the plains around Carpi in sandy, silty, moderately fertile soils. The vineyards are trained using the Guyot system and farmed according to strict biodynamic principles. Grapes are hand-harvested carefully from mid to late September, then destemmed and given a brief two-day maceration on the skins before gentle pressing. Fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by six months of maturation in cement tanks. The wine then undergoes a natural second fermentation in bottle with must, resting for a further six months on its lees. It is bottled without clarification or filtration.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its lively freshness and delicate fruit make it an excellent match for antipasti, cured meats, fresh cheeses, fried seafood, light pasta dishes and Emilia-Romagna specialities such as tortellini or gnocco fritto. Decanting is not recommended; instead, open carefully and pour gently if sediment is present, as the wine is naturally unfiltered.
Producer
Bergianti is associated with naturally made, organically and biodynamically farmed wines from Emilia-Romagna, with a particular focus on expressing the character of local grapes such as Lambrusco di Sorbara. This Saint Vincent bottling reflects the region’s long tradition of gently sparkling wines while taking an uncompromising, low-intervention approach to fermentation and maturation.
