Bellavista Curtefranca Bianco Convento Santissima Annunciata 2024 is a refined dry Chardonnay from the historic Monte Orfano hill in Lombardy. Produced from a single, south-facing vineyard surrounding the 1449 Convento Santissima Annunciata, it combines the site’s distinctive mineral and saline character with the elegance of French-oak maturation.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a clear straw-yellow colour with delicate green highlights. Its expressive nose opens with aromas of ripe fruit, old-fashioned rose and pineapple, followed by subtle vanilla notes from the oak. On the palate, it is poised and fresh, with a pronounced mineral streak, savoury salinity and a well-defined structure. The combination of fruit, freshness and integrated oak gives the wine excellent complexity for a Chardonnay, and it should develop further over the next few years when stored in good conditions.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from Bellavista’s approximately 5.45-hectare historic vineyard on Monte Orfano. The site is characterised by two complementary soil types and a warm, fully south-facing exposure, with the vineyard surrounded by centuries-old oak and olive trees. Fermentation takes place in small French-oak barrels, after which the wine matures on wood for around twelve months to harmonise its structure and integrate its delicate vanilla character. A further year of ageing completes the wine’s aromatic development and tension.

Food & Serving
Its mineral freshness and saline finish make it a natural partner for grilled or baked fish, shellfish, seafood pasta and delicate white-fleshed fish dishes. It also pairs well with fresh and medium-aged cheeses. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, although a brief aeration in the glass or a small carafe can help reveal the wine’s ripe fruit, floral notes and oak complexity.
