Begali Lorenzo Veneto Rosso IGT Tigiolo 2018 is a bold, characterful red that reflects the next generation of the Begali family, with Tiliana and Giordano bringing fresh energy to a long-standing Veneto name. Made in an Amarone-inspired style with partially dried grapes, it combines the richness of Corvina with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, giving the wine a distinctive profile that bridges tradition and modern intensity.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red in the glass, this wine opens with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, forest raspberry, liquorice, and subtle oak. On the palate it is intense yet supple, with ripe dark fruit, spice, and a velvety texture that recalls the meeting point between Napa Cabernet and Amarone-style depth. The 2018 vintage shows excellent concentration and balance, with the oak adding polish rather than overshadowing the fruit. It should continue to develop nicely over the next several years, gaining further complexity and integration with age.

Production
Produced in Veneto from 45% Corvina, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Merlot, Tiglio is made using the Appassimento method, where the grapes are dried before pressing to intensify flavour and structure. After fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels followed by additional time in bottle, allowing the blend to gain depth, texture, and refinement.

Food & Serving
This is a rich, full-flavoured red that pairs beautifully with roasted beef, game, braised short ribs, mature hard cheeses, and hearty mushroom dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1 hour before serving to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
