Description

Beaufort Frères Vin Mousseux Brut Nature Rosé 2022 is a characterful sparkling Pinot Noir that marries Burgundian finesse with the artisanal spirit of one of France’s most respected grower families. Bone-dry and vibrant, it offers an authentic expression of rosé bubbles with no dosage, letting the fruit, terroir and meticulous crafting speak for themselves. This cuvée channels the Beauforts’ long tradition of natural, low‑intervention winemaking into a graceful, gastronomic sparkling wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this rosé shows a delicate, luminous pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles that form a refined and steady mousse. The nose is expressive yet elegant, opening with wild strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate, followed by blood orange zest, rose petals and a subtle herbal and mineral edge. On the palate, it is brisk and dry, very much in the Brut Nature style: no sweetness, just pure, taut fruit and a chalky, saline backbone. Fresh red berries and citrus lead the way, joined by hints of white peach, rhubarb and a touch of brioche from time on lees, all framed by vibrant acidity and a clean, slightly savoury finish. The structure and acidity suggest it will drink beautifully now for its tension and freshness, but another 2–4 years in bottle should bring a little more creaminess and complexity while retaining its lift.

Production
Sourced from Pinot Noir vines rooted in Burgundian soils, this Vin Mousseux benefits from a cool climate and mineral-rich terroir that naturally favor freshness, precision and aromatic detail. Grapes are typically harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve acidity and to allow for meticulous sorting in the vineyard and at the winery. After a gentle pressing to obtain a pale, delicately colored juice, fermentation proceeds with a focus on minimal intervention, often employing native yeasts to respect the fruit’s origin. The secondary fermentation in bottle creates the fine bead, and the wine rests on its lees to build texture and complexity. As a Brut Nature, no dosage is added at disgorgement, resulting in a sparkling rosé that is unadorned, pure and transparently expressive of grape and place.

Food & Serving
This Brut Nature rosé is a versatile food wine, shining alongside fresh seafood—think oysters, shrimp, scallop crudo and sushi—as well as charcuterie, smoked salmon, and goat’s or soft-rind cheeses. It also works beautifully with lighter poultry dishes, grilled vegetables, and Mediterranean-style starters such as tartares and salads with citrus or berry accents. Serve well-chilled at about 8–10°C (46–50°F) to highlight its precision and lift; if possible, pour it into white wine glasses rather than narrow flutes to let the aromas open fully. A brief 10–15 minutes out of the fridge is enough—extended decanting is not necessary, but allowing the wine to come up slightly from fridge temperature will enhance both texture and complexity.
