Barros Colheita 2007 is a beautifully matured Port from the Douro, offering the richness and elegance that have made Barros a respected name in traditional Portuguese fortified wine. Crafted from grapes grown at Quinta de S. Luíz, one of the Douro’s most representative estates, it combines depth, freshness, and a polished, classic style.

Tasting Notes
This Colheita shows a wonderfully rich and perfumed bouquet of red fruits. On the palate it is especially creamy and smooth, with impeccable structure, balancing sweetness and fruitiness with a fresh, lively edge that carries through to a long finish. As a well-aged vintage, it already offers impressive harmony and immediate appeal, though it will continue to hold beautifully in bottle for years to come.

Production
The grapes for Barros Port come from Quinta de S. Luíz in the Douro, a vineyard area known for producing concentrated, characterful fruit from one of Portugal’s most important wine regions. Barros is rooted in traditional Port production, with vinification focused on preserving fruit purity, structure, and the balance needed for long aging in cask and bottle.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 12–14°C, with blue cheeses, nut-based desserts, dark chocolate, or berry tarts. Decanting is recommended if sediment is present, especially when serving an older bottle, to ensure the wine shows at its best.

Barros was founded in 1913 by Manuel de Almeida and has long stood out as a prestigious producer of traditional Port wines. Now part of Sogevinus Fine Wines, the house continues to hold a respected position in the Douro, alongside other notable brands such as Kopke, Burmester, and Calem, while also producing DOC Douro wines from native Portuguese varieties.
