Tasting Notes
In the glass, Barista Black shows a deep, inviting colour that hints at its concentration and plush character. The nose is immediately appealing, with aromas of plums, red berries, and a subtle lift of baked spice that adds warmth and complexity. On the palate, the wine is juicy and velvety, with beautifully balanced tannins and a refined, layered texture. Its oak aging brings finesse rather than heaviness, supporting the fruit and spice without overpowering them. This is a wine with excellent immediate appeal, yet enough structure and complexity to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from a 20-year-old bush vine vineyard in Swartland, a region within the Western Cape known for its dry conditions, old vines, and ability to produce concentrated, characterful wines. After fermentation in stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit, the wine was aged for 18 months in barriques, including 20% new French oak, which adds depth, spice, and a polished finish.

Food & Serving
Barista Black 2024 pairs well with grilled lamb, roasted pork, barbecue dishes, beef burgers, and richly seasoned vegetable dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–45 minutes is recommended if you want to bring out even more of its aromatic complexity and silky texture.
