Balade Pinot Noir 2020 Magnum is a rare, restaurant-only release from Belle Glos, offering the kind of depth and polish that makes California Pinot Noir so compelling. Sourced from a single vineyard close to the Pacific Coast, it combines cool maritime influence with generous sunshine for a wine that is both vibrant and deeply concentrated.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep blood-red colour that hints at its richness and intensity. The nose is lavish and expressive, with blackberries, raspberry tart, honeysuckle, rose petals, violets, and a playful Cherry Coke note. The palate is juicy and full of flavour, leaning toward black cherry, fresh strawberry, and cranberry, wrapped in a subtle touch of vanilla from the oak. Despite its generous style, the wine should continue to evolve gracefully over the next several years, gaining further complexity with bottle age.

Production
The grapes come from a single vineyard site in California positioned close to the Pacific Coast, where cool ocean breezes and ample sunlight help create small berries with exceptional flavour concentration. Winemaker Joe Wagner de-stemmed the fruit before pressing, then matured the wine for 12 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, pork tenderloin, or rich poultry dishes. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 20–30 minutes if you want to open up the aromatics and soften the oak.
