Azienda Agricola Altùris, Venezia Giulia Sauvignon 2025 White

A fresh and expressive Sauvignon from Azienda Agricola Altùris in Italy’s north-eastern Venezia Giulia, where Alpine protection and Adriatic breezes create an ideal environment for vibrant white wines. Its combination of herbal character, citrus freshness and rounded texture makes it an elegant choice both as an aperitif and alongside refined seafood dishes. The estate was founded by Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, heirs to a family with three generations of experience in the wine world.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a clear straw-yellow colour with delicate green reflections. Its elegant, intense bouquet combines aromatic notes of sage, tomato leaf and mint with lively hints of grapefruit and exotic fruit. On the palate, it is fresh yet rounded, with a distinctly fruity profile and a persistent finish. The wine is best enjoyed young, when its aromatic freshness and vibrant citrus character are at their most expressive, although it should develop gracefully over the short term when stored in good conditions.

Production
The vineyards lie in Venezia Giulia, in Italy’s far north-east near the borders with Austria and Slovenia. The Julian Alps shelter the vines from cold northern winds, while breezes from the Adriatic Sea moderate the climate and help preserve freshness in the grapes. Fermentation and ageing take place sur lie in glass-lined cement tanks under controlled temperatures, helping to retain the wine’s aromatic precision while adding a rounded texture.

Food & Serving
Excellent as an aperitif, this Sauvignon pairs particularly well with delicate fish starters, crab and lobster. It also complements asparagus, vegetable soups and herb-infused risotto. Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary; simply open shortly before serving, or give the wine a brief swirl in the glass to release its herbal and citrus aromas.

Azienda Agricola Altùris was established by brothers Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, members of a historic family that has represented solid, long-standing entrepreneurship in the wine industry for three generations. The name Altùris refers to the beautiful hills of Friuli in the local language. The estate is dedicated to producing distinctive wines that express the aromas and character of the region’s native and well-established grape varieties, with its north-eastern location playing a central role in the style of its wines.
