Azienda Agricola Altùris, Friuli Nice wine 2024 White

A refined white wine from Friuli in northeastern Italy, Azienda Agricola Altùris Friuli Nice 2024 combines ripe fruit with a soft, rounded texture. Its distinctive character comes from the region’s Alpine and Adriatic influences, while gentle maturation in 500-litre tonneaux adds subtle notes of vanilla and pastry.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a straw-yellow colour with attractive golden highlights. Its elegant, fruity nose reveals ripe fruit alongside delicate aromas of vanilla and freshly baked pastry. On the palate, it is smooth and rounded, with generous fruit that lingers pleasantly through the finish. The wine is approachable in its youth, when its fruit-forward character and supple texture are at their most expressive. Its careful maturation gives it enough structure to develop further over the short term, although it is best enjoyed while its freshness and ripe fruit remain prominent.

Production
Altùris’ vineyards benefit from a distinctive microclimate in Friuli, where the Julian Alps shelter the vines from cold northerly winds and breezes from the Adriatic Sea moderate the climate. The grapes are allowed to reach a slight degree of over-ripeness on the vine before being gently pressed as whole bunches. The must is statically clarified at low temperature, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Slow maturation follows in 500-litre tonneaux, contributing the wine’s soft texture and subtle vanilla and pastry nuances.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for rich pasta dishes, fish and seafood, light-coloured meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Decanting is generally unnecessary; simply open shortly before serving and allow the wine a little time in the glass to reveal its aromas.

Azienda Agricola Altùris was founded by brothers Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, heirs to a historic family with three generations of experience and a strong entrepreneurial reputation in the wine world. Named after the beautiful Friulian hills—“Altùris” in the local language—the estate is dedicated to expressing the distinctive aromas and flavours of the region’s native grape varieties. Its wines reflect Friuli’s unique position between the Alps, the Adriatic, Austria and Slovenia.
