Attems Ribolla Gialla Trebes 2023 is an expressive white wine from Collio in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, made entirely from the region’s distinctive Ribolla Gialla grape. With roots in Collio dating back to 1506, Attems combines historic regional character with a refined élevage that brings extra depth and complexity to this vibrant Italian white.

Tasting Notes
The wine is bright yellow with attractive golden highlights. Its penetrating bouquet opens with yellow dandelion flowers and white lime blossom, followed by subtle hazelnut, vanilla, white pepper and smoky nuances. On the palate, it is energetic and generous, with the lively acidity typical of Ribolla Gialla balanced by a firm, substantial structure. The exceptionally long finish lingers with notes of mandarin, spice and a delicate saline, sea-like impression. Enjoyable now, it should also develop additional harmony and complexity over the next few years when stored well.

Production
Produced in Collio, a hilly area known for its mineral-rich soils and distinctive microclimate, this wine showcases the freshness and structure associated with Ribolla Gialla. After vinification, it is matured in oak barrels for six months, followed by two months in concrete tanks. Once bottled, the wine rests for a further two months before release, allowing the flavours to integrate and the texture to become more polished.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Its lively acidity, structured palate and subtle saline character make it an excellent match for seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, risotto, fresh pasta with light sauces and poultry. It also pairs well with lightly spiced dishes and creamy cheeses. Decanting is not essential, although a brief airing in the glass can help reveal its floral, spicy and smoky layers.
