Arnot-Roberts Syrah Sonoma Coast 2023 is a beautifully precise cool-climate Syrah drawn from four of the region’s most respected vineyards: Clary Ranch, Que Syrah, Baker Lane, and Solas. Known for its restraint, freshness, and site transparency, it captures the Sonoma Coast’s windswept character while nodding subtly to the savory elegance of the Rhône.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, vivid ruby tone. The nose is immediately alluring, layering sage, lavender, wild blackberry, and savory spice with a cool herbal lift that feels both intense and refined. The palate is medium-bodied and structured by bright, almost nervy acidity and moderate tannins. Juicy raspberry and blackberry are joined by peppery, meaty notes, salty licorice, and a mineral-driven finish, giving the wine a poised balance of fruit, spice, and coastal freshness. It has the structure to age gracefully for several years, developing more earthy and floral complexity with time.

Production
The grapes come from four iconic Sonoma Coast sites, each harvested separately to preserve individual vineyard character. The wine is spontaneously fermented with whole clusters, then blended and aged in used French oak barrels, a method that emphasizes texture and terroir expression rather than overt oak influence. The result is a Syrah of clarity, lift, and coastal precision.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, rosemary roast chicken, duck, or pepper-crusted steak, as well as mushroom dishes and other savory, herb-driven cuisine. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and consider a brief decant of 30–60 minutes to let the aromatic layers unfold.
