Description

Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 is a benchmark expression of Burgundy from one of the region’s most revered Grand Cru vineyards. Sourced from the legendary Chambertin site and crafted by a producer synonymous with precision and finesse, it combines depth, elegance, and remarkable pedigree in a vintage that rewards patience.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant ruby color that hints at both vibrancy and seriousness. The nose opens with ripe cherry and raspberry, followed by forest floor, delicate spice, and floral nuances that add lift and complexity. On the palate, this is all about balance: silky tannins, lively acidity, and layers of red fruit unfolding gradually over a mineral backbone shaped by Chambertin’s limestone-rich soils. The finish is long, refined, and persistent, with excellent aging potential over the next 10 to 20 years, where it should gain further nuance and depth.

Production
Produced from Pinot Noir grown in the iconic Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy, where the limestone and marl soils contribute the site’s signature structure and mineral detail. The grapes are typically harvested carefully by hand to preserve fruit integrity, and vinified with the kind of restrained, traditional approach that emphasizes purity, texture, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This wine is a natural match for dishes that echo its elegance and depth, such as roast duck, pheasant, lamb saddle, beef tenderloin, truffled poultry, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow its aromas and structure to fully open.

Producer
Domaine Armand Rousseau is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated estates, with a long-standing reputation for producing some of the region’s most sought-after wines. Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, the domaine has helped define the modern standard for Pinot Noir in Burgundy, and its Grand Cru bottlings are highly prized for their balance, purity, and age-worthy character.
