Description

André Jacquart Champagne Mesnil Experience Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is a precise, terroir-driven expression of Chardonnay from one of Champagne’s most revered villages, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Crafted from 100% Grand Cru fruit and bottled with an extra-brut dosage, it offers a pure, chiselled style that will appeal to lovers of mineral, tension-filled Champagne. This cuvée pays homage to the chalk-rich slopes of the Côte des Blancs and to the Jacquart family’s long-standing commitment to grower-focused, artisanal Champagne.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Mesnil Experience shows a luminous, pale straw color with fine, persistent bubbles that form an elegant bead. The nose opens with vivid aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white peach, layered with notes of chalk, fresh brioche, almond blossom and a subtle saline breeze. On the palate, this is a taut, energetic Blanc de Blancs, driven by citrus and orchard fruit wrapped around a core of pure, chalky minerality. Hints of grapefruit, pear skin, crushed shells and lightly toasted hazelnut unfold with air, supported by a vibrant, linear acidity and a very dry, precise finish. The extra-brut dosage enhances both the tension and the length, leaving a mouthwatering, saline imprint. Enjoy now for its freshness and verve, or cellar for 4–8 years to allow more pastry, nut and honeyed complexity to emerge.

Production
Sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, this cuvée reflects the Côte des Blancs’ classic terroir: deep chalk soils that lend laser-like minerality and finesse to Chardonnay. Grapes are picked by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve natural acidity and aromatic clarity. In the cellar, André Jacquart favors gentle pressing and a meticulous separation of juice fractions, followed by fermentation largely in stainless steel, with select lots raised in oak to add texture and subtle complexity. Extended aging on the lees prior to disgorgement builds creaminess and fine mousse, while the extra-brut dosage keeps the style incisive, dry and terroir-focused.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a natural partner for pristine seafood: think oysters on the half shell, caviar, scallop crudo, sashimi, or simply grilled fish with lemon and herbs. It also shines alongside goat cheese, fresh chèvre tarts, sushi, tempura, and delicate dishes featuring spring vegetables or fine poultry. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C (46–50°F) in a tulip-shaped Champagne glass to capture both aromatics and texture. A brief 10–15 minutes of air in the glass, or a short decant in a chilled carafe, can help the wine open and reveal its full aromatic detail.

Producer
The André Jacquart estate is a respected grower-producer based in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, with family roots in Champagne dating back to the late 19th century. Working primarily with Chardonnay from Grand Cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Premier Cru Vertus, the domaine has built a reputation for elegant, low-dosage Blanc de Blancs that emphasize purity of fruit and a strong sense of place. As part of Champagne’s new wave of quality-focused récoltant-manipulants, André Jacquart is known for careful vineyard work, long lees aging and a style that highlights structure and minerality over sweetness, making their wines sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate characterful, terroir-driven Champagne.
