Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Brunello shows a deep, refined red colour with the kind of concentration expected from top Sangiovese. On the palate, it is powerful yet polished, with a rich, concentrated texture and impressive length. The wine unfolds slowly and continues beautifully through the finish, showing both structure and finesse. It has excellent ageing potential and should develop further complexity over time.

Production
Altesino is located in Montalcino, housed in a historic 16th-century castle, with cellars beneath the centuries-old Palazzo Altesi. The estate owns a significant share of the famed Montesoli hill, where Sangiovese Grosso thrives in ideal conditions. The 2020 Brunello is crafted in a traditional style and aged in large Slavonian oak casks, preserving the purity and character of the grape while allowing the wine to mature with balance and precision.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for roasted red meats, game, slow-braised dishes, and rich Tuscan cuisine such as pappardelle with wild boar or beef ragù. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about one hour before serving to let the wine open fully and show its best expression.

Altesino is among the elite producers of Brunello di Montalcino, with a reputation built on both heritage and quality. The first Brunello was made at the estate in 1972, and the winery modernised its production in the 1980s, raising its standards to an even higher level.
