Agripunica Barrua Isola dei Nuraghi 2021 is a refined Sardinian red that brings together the character of old Sulcis vineyards with a subtle French influence. Crafted from grapes grown exclusively in the lower Sulcis area, it captures both the warmth of the island and the depth that has made Barrua one of Agricola Punica’s most admired wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Barrua typically shows a deep, насыщенный ruby color with the concentration you’d expect from a serious Mediterranean red. The nose is layered and inviting, with dark berry fruit, plum, wild herbs, tobacco, spice, and a savoury mineral edge that reflects its Sardinian origins. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, balancing ripe black fruit with freshness, fine tannins, and a long, persistent finish. Cabernet Sauvignon lends frame and depth, Merlot adds softness and richness, while Carignan contributes spice and local personality. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and will continue to gain complexity over several years in bottle.

Production
Barrua is made from grapes sourced in the lower Sulcis zone of Sardinia, specifically from the Narcao and Barrua estates, where the vineyards are trained on spurred cordon systems. The blend combines typical local Sulcis varieties with a modest proportion of French grapes, all vinified separately to preserve the character of each component before final blending.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roasted game, beef stew, aged pecorino, and rich Mediterranean dishes with herbs and tomato. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and tannins to open fully.
