Agricola Falset-Marçà Montsant Ètim L’Origen 2021 is a characterful red from the heart of Spain’s Montsant region, combining ripe fruit, refreshing acidity and subtle oak complexity. Made from carefully hand-harvested grapes and matured for 18 months in French oak, it offers an expressive interpretation of Montsant’s distinctive terroir and long winemaking tradition.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep garnet-red colour with attractive purple highlights. Its intense bouquet is filled with ripe red fruit, including strawberry, blackcurrant and pomegranate, complemented by gently spicy and toasted notes from its time in oak. On the palate, it is soft, fruity and lively, with well-balanced acidity that keeps the wine fresh and inviting. A rounded texture, good depth and a long, lingering finish make it both approachable and rewarding. It is drinking well now and should develop gracefully over the next few years, provided it is stored in suitable conditions.

Production
The vineyards are located across approximately 50 hectares in the Montsant DO, an area recognised for its varied landscapes, distinctive climate and rich winemaking heritage. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected before gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, followed by 18 months of maturation in French oak barrels. This combination of traditional practices and modern cellar techniques preserves the wine’s regional character while adding depth and polish.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for grilled or roasted meats, lamb, beef stew, hearty pasta dishes, mushroom-based recipes and mature cheeses. Serve lightly cool at approximately 16–18°C to highlight its freshness and fruit character. Decanting is not essential, but allowing the wine to breathe for 20–30 minutes can help open its ripe fruit, spice and toasted aromas.
