Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep red colour in the glass. Its nose is expressive and inviting, with aromas of candied fruit, forest berries and cassis, complemented by a subtle sense of warmth from the oak ageing. On the palate, Castell de Falset is well balanced and richly flavoured, with sweet, supple tannins that create a smooth and harmonious texture. It is approachable now, while its fruit concentration and oak maturation should allow it to develop gracefully over the next few years when properly stored.

Production
The wine comes from approximately 50 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Montsant region, an area known for its distinctive terroir, rich landscapes and long winemaking tradition. Traditional methods are combined with modern cellar techniques, and the grapes are vinified separately before being matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. The result is a wine with depth and personality that reflects both its origin and the producer’s contemporary approach.

Food & Serving
Enjoy it with traditional Catalan cuisine, particularly meat-based dishes such as cannelloni, roast meats and hearty stews. Serve lightly cool at around 16–18°C to preserve its freshness and balance. Decanting is not essential, but a brief 20–30 minute decant can help open the wine and soften its already supple tannins.
