Description

Adrien Renoir Champagne Le Terroir Grand Cru Extra Brut is a striking grower Champagne that puts the character of its vineyard front and center. Crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Grand Cru sites of the Champagne region, it offers an elegant, incisive style with minimal dosage to let the terroir shine. This non-vintage cuvée reflects a new generation of Champagne growers who focus on precision, transparency, and a deeply expressive sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Le Terroir Grand Cru Extra Brut typically shows a pale, luminous straw color with fine, persistent bubbles forming a delicate mousse. The nose is refined and focused, with aromas of citrus zest, green apple, white flowers, and chalk, layered with hints of brioche, almond, and subtle spice from lees aging. On the palate, this Champagne is taut and vibrant, with a clean, mineral-driven core. Chardonnay brings tension, citrus, and finesse, while Pinot Noir adds depth, texture, and a gentle red-fruit nuance. Expect flavors of lemon, crisp pear, and stone fruit, wrapped in a saline, chalky finish that lingers with great precision. The Extra Brut dosage keeps the wine dry and mouthwatering, making it both gastronomic and ageworthy. With proper cellaring, it should develop additional complexity over the next 5–8 years, gaining more autolytic notes and softer edges without losing its freshness.

Production
Sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in the heart of the Champagne region, Le Terroir is shaped by chalk-rich soils that deliver tension, salinity, and fine-boned structure. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure careful selection and preserve fruit integrity at the press. In the cellar, Adrien Renoir typically vinifies parcel by parcel, using a mix of stainless steel and, in part, oak to balance purity with subtle texture. Extended lees aging in bottle builds aromatic complexity and finesse, while a very low Extra Brut dosage is added at disgorgement to highlight the natural precision and mineral expression of these Grand Cru sites.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is an excellent partner for refined, seafood-driven dishes: think oysters, scallop crudo, sashimi, or poached lobster with a light citrus beurre blanc. It also pairs beautifully with sushi, caviar, goat’s cheese, or simple dishes featuring seasonal vegetables and delicate sauces. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C (46–50°F). A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or an elegant, narrow decanter can help the wine open up aromatically, especially if served with more complex dishes.

Producer
Adrien Renoir Champagne is a grower-producer based in the prestigious Champagne region of France, part of a dynamic new wave of vignerons putting vineyard character ahead of blends and brands. Farming their own Grand Cru parcels and bottling under their own name, the estate focuses on meticulous viticulture and careful, small-lot winemaking to capture the nuances of each plot. Although relatively young as a label compared with some of the grandes marques, Adrien Renoir has quickly attracted serious attention from Champagne enthusiasts for the precision, energy, and terroir transparency of the wines, helping to cement the reputation of grower Champagne at the very top tier of the region.
