A. Christmann Riesling Aus den Lagen Bio 2025 is the estate’s new entry point to its origin-focused wines, replacing the former house and village bottlings. Made from organically farmed grapes sourced from top VDP.ERSTE and VDP.GROSSE LAGEN parcels in the Pfalz, including renowned sites such as Meerspinne, Vogelsang and Idig, it offers an expressive introduction to the limestone and sandstone terroirs around Gimmeldingen, Ruppertsberg, Neustadt and Königsbach.

Tasting Notes
The wine is bright and brilliantly clear in the glass, with a fresh, precise profile typical of Riesling from the Pfalz. Its aromas are expected to show crystalline citrus, green apple, white peach and delicate floral nuances, supported by a distinct mineral character. On the palate, it is focused and lively, combining vibrant acidity with pure fruit and a clean, refreshing finish. The early bottling helps preserve the wine’s freshness and site expression. While enjoyable in its youth, the wine’s concentration, acidity and quality of fruit should allow it to develop additional complexity over the next several years when properly stored.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from selected parcels classified as VDP.ERSTE LAGEN and VDP.GROSSE LAGEN. Following a short maceration on the press, the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation and is matured mainly without temperature control in traditional Doppelstück casks. The organic approach and gentle vinification place the emphasis on purity, freshness and the character of the individual Pfalz vineyards.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 8–10°C alongside seafood, sushi, grilled fish, shellfish, fresh goat’s cheese or light poultry dishes. Its bright acidity also makes it an excellent partner for Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, particularly dishes with herbs, citrus and moderate spice. Decanting is not essential, although 15–20 minutes in a carafe can help the wine open and reveal more of its mineral and aromatic detail.
