Abbazia di Novacella Alto Adige Müller-Thurgau is a fresh, expressive white wine from one of Italy’s northernmost wine regions. Made entirely from Müller-Thurgau and fermented and matured in stainless steel, it combines alpine freshness with a rounded, lightly savoury character. The wine reflects the centuries-old winemaking tradition of Abbazia di Novacella, a historic abbey and renowned producer in Alto Adige.

Tasting Notes
Bright pale straw-yellow in appearance, this semi-aromatic white wine opens with inviting notes of crisp apple, lemon, lemon verbena and almond, complemented by a subtle hint of rennet-like savouriness. On the palate, it is fresh and pleasantly full-bodied, with a gently saline profile, lively citrus fruit and a clean, fruity finish. The stainless-steel maturation preserves the wine’s aromatic precision and vibrant freshness. It is best enjoyed young, while its citrus character and floral-herbal aromas are at their most expressive.

Production
Produced from 100% Müller-Thurgau in the cool, mountainous environment of Trentino-Alto Adige, where alpine conditions help retain freshness and aromatic definition in the grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by further maturation in stainless steel to maintain the variety’s crisp fruit, clean structure and delicate semi-aromatic character.

Food & Serving
A versatile aperitif, this Müller-Thurgau is also well suited to light dishes such as fresh salads, steamed vegetables, delicate white fish, shellfish, sushi and mild goat’s or fresh cheeses. Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary; opening the bottle shortly before serving is sufficient.

Located near Varna in Alto Adige’s Valle Isarco, it is one of the region’s most recognised producers, known for wines that express the freshness and distinctive character of the alpine vineyards surrounding the abbey.
