Aalto PS 2019 Magnum

Aalto PS 2019 Magnum is the flagship expression of Aalto’s powerful Ribera del Duero style, showing even more concentration and depth than the estate’s classic release. Made from old-vine Tempranillo sourced from carefully selected parcels in La Horra and La Aguilera, it is a bold, luxurious wine with real cellar-worthy pedigree.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it appears nearly black, reflecting its intensity and concentration. The nose is packed with fresh dark fruit aromas of blueberry, blackberry, and ripe black plum, layered with noticeable oak, chocolate, and a subtle spicy edge. On the palate, it is opulent and expansive, with flavors of blackberry, plum liqueur, licorice, vanilla, spice, coffee bean, and tobacco. Despite its richness, the wine remains structured, nuanced, and highly complex. It has excellent aging potential and will continue to develop beautifully over time, though it can be approached now with generous breathing.

Production
PS, short for Pagos Seleccionadas, is made from selected plots in La Horra and La Aguilera in Castilla y León, where 60- to 90-year-old vines bring natural concentration and depth. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and carefully sorted before vinification, and the wine is matured for 19 months in new French oak barrels, contributing to its richness, spice, and polished structure.
